Karen Wallis was so busy working on commissioned work, that she almost didn’t enter the Fine Art Trade Guild’s 2013 Artists Exhibition. In the end, she was very glad she did, as she won the accolade of ‘Best In Show’ for her paintings.
The exhibition was held in the historic ‘Old Swan Hotel in the English spa town of Harrogate; famous as the place where mistress of crime-writing, Agatha Christie hid away during her mysterious eleven day disappearance in 1926. The perfect setting for the exhibition with the event is culminating with the awards dinner and dance.
Karen, known for her evocative and romantic paintings of the female figure, was delighted to have scooped the award as voting was open to the public as well as members of the guild. One of Karen’s new paintings; ‘Black Lace, White Rose’ will be used on the poster and advertising for next years guild exhibition.
Both paintings will be published by Art In Motion and available soon.
